Our Organization

CAN Obiejemba Family Foundation Inc. (CANOFF) is an approved 501c (3) non-profit organization registered in the state of Maryland, USA. Prior to incorporation, CANOFF first started as philanthropic services offered by our father, CAN Obiejemba, in the local community of Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State. That philanthropy was broadened in Nigeria by Drs. Obinna & Nneoma Obiejemba, through collaboration with local physicians in patient care and direct shipment of medicines year-round from the Unites States to Nigeria. Ensuing from our long years of distinguished service, we decided to expand and bring in the expertise and resources of all CAN Obiejemba’s children and their families, from our doctors to scientists and business people to educators.

We utilize the highest levels of translational skills in converting research findings to effective small-scale public programs. In so doing, we provide solutions that help alleviate extreme poverty, improve nutrition, and help mitigate chronic and infectious diseases in resource-limited areas. Scientific evidence and good moral principles guide the design, modeling, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of each program the corporation undertakes.

Purpose

The purpose of CAN OBIEJEMBA FAMILY FOUNDATION, Inc. (CANOFF) is to serve as a hand and a voice – a hand to help the infirmed and a voice for the most vulnerable in the US and Nigeria.

CANOFF Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Why Support Us?

While many organizations provide traditional poverty alleviation programs, such as food aid, health missions/outreaches, and other welfare packages, our approach is different. We believe strongly that empowering people and building their capacity to generate income is a more sustainable approach to poverty reduction and economic development.
